ESMA delivers its advice on Market Abuse Regulation to the Commission

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has delivered its technical advice on the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) to the European Commission. MAR applies to financial instruments traded on a regulated market, multilateral trading facility or organised trading facility and other conduct or action that can affect such instruments.

ESMA’s advice deals with e.g. the extension of the disclosure obligation of managers within an issuer to cover new instruments and transactions. It also specifies the procedures relating to the reporting of infringements.

ESMA is scheduled to deliver its draft regulatory technical standards regarding MAR by summer 2015.
