Warning on fraudulent messages sent in the FIN-FSA's name
The FIN-FSA has been informed of fraudulent messages sent to supervised entities, falsely presenting the FIN-FSA’s name and identifier. The purpose of these messages is to give the impression of official communications and to get the recipient to take urgent action.
If you receive an email from the FIN-FSA, check the authenticity of the message.
The FIN-FSA urges supervised entities to exercise particular caution with emails in which:
- the sender’s email address differs from the FIN-FSA’s official addresses
- the message appeals to urgency or calls for immediate action
- the message refers to alleged rule violations or sanctions
- the message refers to departments or persons not belonging to the FIN-FSA organisation
- the message contains linguistic or factual errors.
If you receive a suspicious message, do not open any links or attachments in it or reply before verifying the authenticity of the message. In unclear situations, you can reach out to your FIN-FSA contact person or sanna.helin-ala-nissila@fiva.fi.
The FIN-FSA is monitoring the situation and, if necessary, will inform of any additional observations.
The corresponding Finnish-language supervision release was published on 15 July 2026.
