Reporting threshold for net short positions remains at 0.1%
On 16 March 2020, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) decided to lower the reporting threshold for net short positions from 0.2% to 0.1% on a temporary basis. On 10 June 2020, ESMA decided to renew the decision on lowering the reporting threshold for an additional three months as of 17 June 2020. The decision has no impact on the publication threshold of net short position (0.5%).
Based on the ESMA decision, a legal or natural person holding a net short position in a share traded on a regulated market must report to the relevant national competent authority detailed information on such a position if the position reaches, exceeds or falls below 0.1% of the issued share capital.
