Change of Ministry of Social Affairs and Health’s deputy representative on FIN-FSA Board

On 9 February 2017, the Parliamentary Supervisory Council appointed Mr Hannu Ijäs as deputy for the representative of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health on the Board of the Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA), with immediate effect.

Mr Ijäs, LLM (trained on the bench) acts as Director in the Insurance Department of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. In his new appointment as deputy, he succeeds Dr Mikko Kuusela, who will transfer to head the FIN-FSA’s Employee Pension Institutions Division, as from 1 March 2017.

Dr Olli Rehn, Member of the Board of the Bank of Finland, acts as Chairman of the FIN-FSA Board, and Dr Martti Hetemäki, Permanent State Secretary, Ministry of Finance, as Vice-Chairman. The other Board members are Ms Outi Antila, Director-General, Ministry of Social Affairs and Health; Ms Pirkko Juntti, LLM (trained on the bench); and Dr Vesa Vihriälä, Managing Director, Research Institute of the Finnish Economy. Dr Katja Taipalus, Head of Department, acts as deputy for Dr Rehn. Acting as deputy for Dr Hetemäki is Mr Jaakko Weuro, Ministerial Adviser, while Ms Antila's deputy is Director Ijäs.
