Supervision release 26 March 2019 – 11/2019

The FIN-FSA’s regulations and guidelines 2/2019 related to the EBA Guidelines on institutions’ stress testing, to take effect on 26 March 2019

The European Banking Authority (EBA) issued Guidelines on institutions’ stress testing (EBA/GL/2018/04) on 19 July 2018. The Guidelines will be transposed into Finnish law by the FIN-FSA’s regulations and guidelines 2/2019.

In its guideline, the FIN-FSA recommends that entities falling within the scope of application of the guidelines comply with the above mentioned EBA Guidelines.

EBA’s Guidelines are addressed to the supervised entities.

They include methods and processes for the conduct of stress tests aimed at strengthening and harmonising stress testing practices within the EU.

The Guidelines on institutions’ stress testing provide an update on the Guidelines on stress testing (GL32) issued in 2010 by CEBS, the forerunner to EBA, and reflect developments in business practices, including recovery planning
