ESMA publishes Public Statement on European common enforcement priorities (ECEP) for the annual financial reports of listed companies and the results of a fact-finding exercise on sustainability reporting
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published the European common enforcement priorities (ECEP) for the 2025 annual financial reports of listed companies.
The priorities relate to the IFRS financial statements, sustainability statements and ESEF reporting of listed companies. The Public Statement lists the specific topics for each area of reporting. At the end of the statement, the ESMA discusses other topical issues.
In 2025, ESMA has also conducted a fact-finding exercise to take stock of evidence from the first cycle of reporting under the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) Materiality matters - Results of a fact-finding exer-cise on 2024 corporate reporting practices under ESRS Set 1.
