EBA launches CVA risk monitoring exercise for 2016

On 21 June 2017, the European Banking Authority (EBA) announced the launch of the credit valuation adjustment (CVA) risk monitoring exercise for 2016. The monitoring will be based on data with a reference date of 31 December 2016. The Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA) will separately contact the banks participating in the exercise in respect of the timetable involved, among other things.

The EBA simultaneously announced that work on the “Guidelines on the treatment of CVA risk under SREP” was put on hold until further notice.
