Statements within the scope of the periodic disclosure obligation and IFRS financial statements

Disclosure of periodic information by listed companies includes annual and quarterly financial reporting as financial statement releases, financial statements, management reports and interim reports. Some companies may issue interim management statements instead of interim reports. A standard (5.1) has been issued on the disclosure of periodic information, which contains regulations and guidelines particularly for the preparation of management reports and presentation of performance measures.

Financial statements in compliance with IFRS

Listed companies issue financial statements in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). FIN-FSA is responsible for monitoring compliance with these standards in Finnish listed companies’ financial statements. According to the Commission's Regulation on Prospectuses, the prospectus of a company applying for listing must include data from the company's IFRS financial statements for at least the two most recent financial periods. If the company has followed the Finnish generally accepted accounting principles for the financial periods concerned, the data must be retrospectively restated to comply with the IFRS.
