Marketing of foreign funds in Finland
The marketing in Finland of foreign investment funds requires either a notification or permission procedure.
If a collective investment undertaking meeting the requirements of the UCITS Directive (2009/65/EC). UCITS wishes to begin marketing its units in Finland, it is subject to the so-called notification procedure.
Other collective investment undertakings (non-UCITS) that wish to market their shares also to non-professional investors need a marketing permission granted by the Financial Supervisory Authority before beginning the marketing of their units.
The marketing of the units of collective investment undertakings is regulated in sections 128–132 of the Mutual Funds Act.
